Who makes a good recruiter?
People who typically do well, who make good recruiters, are curious and interested in learning things by talking with people. They are also self-driven.
Where I work, you're expected to get results, but you have a lot of freedom in how you achieve them. Some agencies are very strict on KPIs and directives.
However, I like the freedom we have now. With that freedom comes the need to be self-motivated and figure things out on your own. So, someone who doesn't need a lot of hand-holding is crucial.
Also, a recruiter needs to be resilient. They shouldn't get upset when people hang up or yell on the phone, though that doesn't happen often. Someone who won't get upset if a candidate rejects an offer or a client is being difficult is also important. Ultimately, it's about someone who can roll with the punches and still make things happen.
