What have you learned about this role that you wish someone had told you before you entered the industry?

One of the things I wish my professors had told us is to analyze the person interviewing you more during job interviews. I know it's you who is being analyzed to see if you can do the job.

However, they never told us we should also analyze them. I've worked with toxic managers and in toxic environments. When you go into an interview, it's about you and your skills, but you should also make sure you want to work with them.

There have been internships where they made me run errands. I also worked at an advertising company that was a toxic environment. I wish I had asked the right questions about how they do things or what exactly was expected of me.

So, one of the things I wish my professors had told us is to be more selective when it comes to job hunting. I've encountered toxic people, but I eventually found the right people to work with.

When you find a good environment, it makes a whole lot of difference. I wish my professors had told us to be more selective when job hunting.
