Transcript

What did you do in undergrad to set you up for success in your career?

I basically just did internships and took little jobs. When I was at Cal Poly Pomona, my advisor had a show he liked to put on in the spring. He would have his students be the tech people.

I was the lighting technician and also worked in the box office selling tickets for shows. So, little jobs like that. And, of course, there was my internship with Universal.

So, anything you can find, any little jobs you can find on campus, do it. The more you have on your resume, the better. I didn't feel like I did enough internships as an undergrad; that's the one thing I regret. I should have done a lot more internships.

Also, something else my professors didn't tell me to do: I should have reached out to recruiters and talent acquisitions. That's something I didn't do until I was a grad student at Cal State LA. But, yeah, I would basically say just do little jobs here and there.
