What is one lesson that you have learned that has proven significant in your career?

Trying new things has worked for me. I didn't realize I would like Web3 until I tried it. When you're going through school, you learn things through a textbook setting.

I remember learning marketing and graphic design through lessons, but you won't know if you actually like it until you do the job, the internship, or your first role. So, my advice is don't be afraid to try something new. You won't know if you like it until you try it.

For example, when I first saw the job at Re..., I saw FinTech. I wasn't sure if the DeFi aspect was really my thing, but it turns out I ended up really liking it. I've also had to pivot multiple times to stay employed.

My lesson is to be open to new things and don't feel like you have to follow a specific career path to get what you want. Sometimes, people have to take different jobs to get to the one they really want.

There isn't always a "dream title." Sometimes, it's not the job itself, but the company, culture, and team that will make you stay. When interviewing, especially when starting out, get a general vibe of the team. Do you genuinely see yourself working with these people every day?

I really enjoy working with my manager. She's always open to the ideas I pitch to her. That's a very different experience than if I were working in entertainment. Even if it's the same job, I may not have the same scope.

As a social media manager, I could do copywriting and graphic design in entertainment. I would be in a much smaller box in that industry. So, know that sometimes it's not always the job, but the company culture that can affect how you feel about it. A good manager is also important. Just keep an eye out for these things as you progress in your career.
