As someone who identifies as an immigrant, how has that impacted how you've navigated your career?
I believe that gave me more strength and a superpower to help me push through so much because I knew I was an immigrant and I knew I had to overcome many barriers. My parents' support was tremendous throughout the whole journey. My husband's support is also powerful, and now my kids have been my motivation.
I immigrated here as a first grader, and English wasn't my first language. I struggled a lot with English and sometimes with any subject. Nobody could help me because my parents didn't know the language.
I am the first generation to graduate and now to leave that model for my children. I wasn't going to ask them to do something that I couldn't do. So it was my mission to complete this degree.
Now I can show them how the business is running and motivate them to do more than what's just in front of them, to push through more barriers.
