What's one lesson you've learned that's proven significant in your career?
The biggest lesson is to never burn bridges. Every job you have should focus on establishing as many relationships as possible.
Earlier in my career, I mentioned that working at the largest company you can is beneficial. Being open, communicating, and interacting with many people early on sets the stage for future opportunities.
Every job I had after Anderson came about because I knew someone. They'd call and say, "Hey, we have this great opportunity for you. I loved when you worked for me. Come work with me again. Here's why it's a great job." That's how the rest of your career takes shape.
If you go to a small organization with fewer people, it can be harder to kickstart the number of interactions and opportunities you have down the road.
This is why, if you're unsure of your exact career path, try to find a large business. A very big company can provide more relationships and opportunities than a small one.
