What have you learned about this role that you wish someone had told you before you entered the industry?

It might relate to the comment you just made, that everyone hopes someone else has the answers in this industry. I tend to think everyone is learning together on certain issues.

The world is moving and trying to adapt, and everyone is trying to find best practices for the future, not just those that exist today. While people are experts in different fields, everyone is still learning.

That's probably something I wish I realized before I started: how much learning is involved and how important the team you work with is. Having people there to support you, and really good managers or colleagues, will make the process significantly more enjoyable as a consultant.
