What do you enjoy most about being in your current role?
In my current role, and this probably spans most marketing roles at other organizations, I really enjoy the collaboration with different teams. For example, I went into college thinking about marketing.
A part of me really wanted to do something design-related, but I was a little scared to get into a design role. Business almost sounded bigger, more appealing, and like a safety net.
So, something I enjoy in my current role is being able to go back to that design part of myself and learn from the design team. In my job, we design a lot of web pages, the look of an event, or a promotion or banner.
I can learn from these different aspects and almost do a bit of the design work, even though that's not my actual title. Being able to get more involved with something I'm interested in and learn from different teams is really nice.
I'm not just stuck in my marketing role. I'm able to do a little bit of each person's job. I also have the freedom to ask if there's more I want to work on, like perhaps learning more about the analytics side.
I have a very supportive manager who can guide me toward that and add that more to my plate for future projects. It ties into my drive to be a continuous learner and acquire different skills along the way.
