What does a day in the life of a director of corporate marketing look like?
It can really vary from day to day, which is actually what makes it so appealing to me personally. It can range from a handful of meetings and back-to-back calls.
It can also involve brainstorming, where we work as a team to think about the next creative project or initiative. It can include advising on what I think might be best, or getting feedback on how to improve in my role or something I'm working on.
It can also be creative downtime where I have to put pen to paper. I think something really important is that no matter how senior you end up getting in your role over the years, it's important to always have your hands in something.
You still need to execute to some degree, so you can continue to work those muscles, even as you move into a leadership position. You still want to feel close to the work that you're putting out.
