But what do you enjoy most about being in your industry?

One thing I really like about it is the collaborative nature of fundraisers. Communication with people throughout Oakland, especially in the education sector, is constant. We all talk to each other and are always sharing best practices.

Someone might see something I've published and say, "Oh my gosh, that was great. Can you tell me more about the platform you used?" or "Can you help me with this?" There's a real collaborative nature, and I've really enjoyed that. I've never met anyone in the development world that I didn't actually really like.
