What entry-level positions in this field might an undergraduate college student consider?
I'm currently hiring, so I'm very aware of this within our organization. I think this is fairly standard: there are associate-level jobs that you can enter right out of undergrad. These are for someone with a marketing degree or any kind of writing background.
It's also for someone who, as an undergrad, has worked for a club or an organization. In those roles, they've managed social media pages, done events, and perhaps fundraising. There are many ways to get relevant experience while you're in college that would lead directly into this role.
At our organization, Lighthouse, we're happy to take someone who's brand new. We look for someone who is eager to learn and is a quick learner. We can help them get up to speed with the tools that we use.
