What entry-level positions are there in the field that an undergraduate college student might consider?
I think the difference between working at an agency versus in-house is significant. At an agency, there are opportunities for coordinators, junior producers, and junior strategists.
These are all entry-level roles that will help you learn what that job entails and what the team needs. I recommend starting there as a recent college graduate.
For internships in-house, there are usually more opportunities on the production side. You'll assist more with junior roles rather than leading them yourself.
There's also a desk opportunity, which might not sound exciting, but it lets you meet everyone at the production company. At the internship level in entertainment, these are more like meet-and-greet opportunities.
As an undergraduate, I recommend starting with coordinator or entry-level roles.
