Could you walk me through your career path, starting with your experiences in college and internships or jobs you held before your current role?

I had a pretty typical route to my current role. I went to UCI and graduated in 2015 with a double major in Business Economics and Public Health Policy. I did a couple of internships while there: once as an admin assistant at a startup and another as a marketing intern. I was all over the place and had no idea what I wanted to do after graduation.

After graduating, I considered potential careers I wanted to pursue. Management consulting came across as a great fit for me, based on what I enjoy doing and my personality. Most people preparing for it in undergrad get good grades or join the right clubs, but I didn't do any of that.

My resources were mainly Reddit, specifically the consulting subreddit, and online resources. I bought a book on case interviewing, which is a huge part of the interview process for management consulting. I kind of scrounged up all of these resources from Googling and looking online.

Eventually, I applied and got a role as an analyst at a benefits consulting firm. This was very back-end focused and I mostly did analytical work for field consultants and particular clients. It was a good chance to build analytical skills, such as working in Excel, working with lab members, and doing projections. I also got a little client exposure here and there.

After doing that for about three years, I finally got to a more proper client-facing consulting role when I was hired at Accenture. I was a consultant and then senior consultant there over two years. That was kind of my path.
