This role thrives in the energy space, especially in energy engineering. You constantly have to think about innovation and the latest solutions to problems. I'm always researching the newest technologies to recommend.

This ensures we remain at the forefront. Our companies are always considering AI and how to incorporate it into our work. Therefore, this role requires an interdisciplinary focus and an interest in innovation.

Beyond that, you just need to be a "nerd" about energy. It really helps if you are fascinated with buildings and energy, regardless of your specific angle or background. There are many ways to get involved beyond energy engineering.

Lastly, being adaptable and open-minded is crucial in this field. New challenges will arise; this is not a mundane role with repetitive solutions. There are constant new challenges, not just with energy problems, but also with people and project issues.
