What have you learned about this role that you wish someone had told you before you entered the industry?
It's not about how important physical health is outside of work, but how it pertains to the role. Anyone can do a great job in front of a computer if they work hard enough.
But if you can't take care of your physical health outside of work, it all ties together. What you eat impacts your workouts, which impacts your work, and how much you sleep.
If one of those things lapses, you can get by for a while. But you need to make sure you're focusing on your personal well-being outside of the workspace.
My job is so integrated into my life that I'm online dealing with work almost 24/7. Even when I'm sleeping, I'm available if needed.
You need to set aside time outside of work for your personal things, no matter your industry, but especially in this one. There will always be more to do, and never a moment for a true break.
It's always about moving forward. Whether things are going well or not, you just keep going. It's always the next thing, something bigger and better.
You're always improving, always iterating. But it's crucial to be sure you can take pauses and work on your personal stuff. That's super important.
