What are your main responsibilities within your current role?
My last role was as a senior content producer at Swell Creative Group, a boutique social impact agency in Downtown LA. My job was to translate legislation and important issues affecting people in Los Angeles and California into digestible content. This included social media posts, newsletters, and websites, all aimed at informing people about issues that would affect them.
We talked a lot about affordable housing and educating audiences on why certain initiatives were important. We explained why they should show up to town hall meetings or vote in elections. It was a nice way to be more creative and use the skills I learned in politics to reach more people.
We focused on making information accessible to multiple communities. We did this in English and Spanish, really trying to find ways to reach as many people as we could.
