What do you enjoy most about being in your current role?
In my current role, I really enjoy the collaborative element of my job. Working in recruitment, I'm usually either collaborating with a hiring manager to create a job posting or I'm collaborating with a candidate to determine where they would fit within our organization. This allows me to recommend the right job for them to apply for and compete for.
Another aspect of my job that I really like, and I think is unique compared to other organizations, is that I work for the county of Ventura, which is a local government. This allows me to be close to policy and understand that realm more fully. Having a Master's in Public Policy Administration, this is an area of my passion.
I really like the element of public service and trying to make our government processes better and more equipped to serve the people. So, between the dynamic collaborative atmosphere and being embedded in an organization dictated by policy, I would say those are my two favorite things. They're tied.
