How would you describe people who typically thrive in this industry?

People who typically thrive in this industry have a lot of energy and passion for what they do. Ultimately, hard workers are the ones who will advance.

This is applicable regardless of the industry you go into. People who typically advance in these roles aren't afraid to share their opinions or what they're thinking about in their work. They speak up for themselves and carve out space for others to listen.

Often, people are too afraid to say anything in meetings, especially if they haven't been with the company for a long time. While that can be daunting, you'll only be noticed if you speak your mind.

Nobody knows what you want unless you ask for it. Being able to say, "I want to move up. Can I do that here?" is really helpful. Making sure you advocate for yourself in those situations is important.
