What do you enjoy most about being in your industry?
I think similar to the question about what I enjoy about my current role, I really enjoy the people aspect of it. To a larger extent, I really enjoy knowing that the work I'm doing is showcasing the real lives of other people that we are living with on this planet.
There are so many people doing really cool things all the time. I grew up in Chicago and was very much an inner-city kid. Most people have this preconceived notion that if you grow up in a city, you know everything about the world.
This is compared to someone from a small town or a rural place who isn't exposed to certain things. I would say it goes both ways. Growing up in a big city, I was definitely in a bubble.
I was surprised people didn't do the same things I did. I didn't even know what a hike was or that people wanted to do that willingly. To be able to showcase the actual world that we live in and ensure people see that is really important to me. Ultimately, it makes me feel very satisfied.
