What do you enjoy most about being in the legal industry?

So I decided to go to law school. I was learning a lot about intersectional inequality and how laws can be an avenue for rectifying that in certain instances. That's why I decided to go to law school.

In law school, I had to narrow down what that meant for my career, because it could mean a lot of things. It could mean working for Planned Parenthood and suing the government based on abortion rights. It could mean writing policy for the government.

In my case, it means advocating for specific employees who have been discriminated against by their employers. What I like about the legal industry is that there's an opportunity to feel like you're making a change, even if it's a change on behalf of one client.

Even if it's helping one person get their immigration status, I feel like I'm making a difference, which is what I'm passionate about. So that was really important to me in deciding my career, and specifically deciding what type of law to practice, where I'd want to practice, and the type of people I want to work with.

I think that's important too. So that's what I'm looking forward to after finishing this clerkship and moving on with my career.
