Q5: Favorite parts of your role?

What do you enjoy most about being in your current job?

I find my job very gratifying. Being able to help people hear better and connect better with their environment is incredibly rewarding.

When a patient returns for a follow-up appointment after being fitted with devices, it's amazing to hear their feedback. They might say they no longer need the TV as loud.

I had a patient who returned and said he didn't realize his house had creaky floors. His wife mentioned that had been happening for ten years, but he just hadn't been hearing it.

Hearing things like that is very gratifying. People with hearing loss often become disconnected from their families, and they may not even realize why.

Seeing them reconnect with their families, hear them, and enjoy those precious family moments again—that's what makes it rewarding.
