How would you describe people who typically thrive in this industry?

In edtech, former educators definitely thrive. The team I worked closely with were all former teachers, principals, or administrators.

Having an educational background, or at the very least a passion for education, will serve you well in educational technology. This is a large industry, as technology is increasingly needed in education.

Also, being flexible and disciplined, with the ability to prioritize, is important. These are transferable and excellent soft skills that are needed everywhere. Being a team player and flexible is crucial, though I think that's true for every industry.

So, an educational background, being a team player, and being flexible are key.
