What a Digital Marketing Manager at Bank of America Wishes They Had Known Before Entering the Finance Industry
Having had six different roles in four years at Bank of America through a rotational program for MBAs, the most insightful thing Cody wishes someone would've told them is that "there's something to be learned from every one of them," even if the role "wasn't a preference" or the function wasn't necessarily enjoyable. Cody suggests that regardless of whether a role "looks great on paper," there's always a great learning opportunity.

Q9: Wish I'd known before about the industry.
I specifically joined a rotational program upon entering the bank for MBAs. So in four years, I've had about six different roles.
What I wish someone would have told me is that there's something to be learned from every one of them. I've had roles where they weren't my preference and I didn't necessarily enjoy the function, but that doesn't mean there wasn't a great learning opportunity there.
So, no matter what role you end up in, sometimes it looks great on paper, but turns out it's not.
