What are your main responsibilities within your current role?

This is a loaded question because I pretty much wear all the hats. My husband does help me with the backend of the business, dealing with payroll and things like that. He's a software engineer, so he helps with the development side of the website and marketing.

I actually started this business by taking classes and getting my certification in permanent makeup. I started doing permanent makeup first, and that's how the business began. It was actually called Precision Microblading.

I did that about six years ago, and from there, I just kind of grew the business. Now there are nine of us total. I have three other permanent makeup artists, a nurse practitioner and an RN who do injections and laser, an aesthetician, and a CoolSculpting tech, plus my front desk coordinator.

So now I manage everyone. However, I still take clients and do permanent makeup five days a week. I also handle all the social media, manage inventory, and do marketing. Pretty much everything it takes to run a business.

I'm always trying to figure out new ways to get more business. My husband and I work a lot. He is a huge part of the business as well, which is really helpful because he handles all the backend stuff.

I don't love the numbers aspect of the business, so I focus more on the creative side and taking clients. My situation is a little different because I own the business, but I'm also providing the service five days a week. It's a lot, but it's fun and I love it.
