What have you learned about this role that you wish someone would have told you before you entered the industry?

There are two things I wish someone had told me. The first is the amount of time the job requires.

It doesn't stop like a normal nine-to-five. Just because you go home doesn't mean you're not working. The job is 24/7.

People constantly need help with their cars, others are trying to sell you cars, and you always need to know the market. It truly never stops. I really wish someone had told me that.

The other thing I wish someone had told me is that this position takes the blame for many aspects of the car industry. If cars aren't selling, you'll be blamed. If cars are sitting on the lot, you'll be blamed.

Understanding that beforehand and knowing if you're willing to take fault is something I wish I knew before entering this field.
