Andy, taking you back to your time at the University of Maryland, what did you do in undergrad that set you up for success in your career?

Spending time getting to learn about the jobs my friends' parents had and understanding what my dad did put me on the right path. Thinking about the next steps helped me specifically aim for an internship that wasn't even a real position.

This experience taught me how to ask for something and share the reasons why I should get that role. There were a lot of good life lessons involved.

Getting that position created for me and then parlaying that into a full-time job was really helpful. It helped me understand how to negotiate, how to communicate, and how to set myself up in the best position possible.
