Could you walk me through your career path, starting with your experiences in college? Please include any internships or jobs you've had before your current role.

Sure thing. When I was in college, senior year, I wanted to get some work experience under my belt. So I found an internship at Clear Channel Outdoor. A friend's dad sold billboards, so I got in touch with the manager of the DC Baltimore Region of Clear Channel, where I went to school at the University of Maryland. That was local.

I earned a spot as a sales intern. I followed all the salespeople around all day and figured out what they did to sell more billboards. I really liked it and lobbied for myself to make it a full-time role once I graduated. They offered me the job, which was great.

I spent three and a half years there in the billboard business, selling billboards and building relationships. After three and a half years, I moved to New York City. I wanted to get into the advertising technology side of advertising, moving from old-school billboards to new-school ad tech.

I found a job at a company called Lo Tomy. I actually took a step down from full-time selling to sales development, which involves sending many emails to set up appointments for sellers. But I was learning a whole new industry, so I thought it would be worth it. After a year, I moved back into sales at the same company, selling data to programmatic advertising buyers.

Programmatic advertising is a section of ad tech that involves fast auctions of media being bought and sold very quickly. The data space is one of those. I stayed in the data space for eight years total with two companies: Lo Tomy and Start App. We eventually changed our name to Start IO, which is mobile data.

I went to Start IO to build out an audience data business. I had a great boss at Lo Tomy and learned a lot. I took an opportunity at Start IO to build a pretty new audience data business, and it was very fulfilling. I was there for four and a half years.

After about eight years in data, I was thinking there was more in ad tech and that I wanted to learn more. Then Cibs reached out to me. They build AI for programmatic advertising that automates campaign optimization with the click of a button.

The message on LinkedIn hit me, and I snapped back. I realized this was something I could sink my teeth into, and I was really excited about it. Wrapping that long story up, I've been there for about a year and three or four months, getting my groove, and enjoying my time here.
