What is one lesson you've learned that has proven significant in your career?
Persistence is crucial in any career, in any industry. You need to be persistent in what you're looking to do and always be learning.
Never assume you know everything. Try to find new skills and new things to learn. For example, in the banking world, I started with small business loans, then moved to real estate loans, and then to construction loans for that real estate.
Once I felt I had mastered those, I looked for something new. I then started working on affordable housing tax credit deals, which are very complex.
As long as you keep learning in your career and remain persistent, it will pay major dividends in the end.
