What skills are most important for a job like yours as a vice president?
The most important skill I've adopted over the years in my position as a vice president is time management and the ability to be organized and follow up. Some may say that's not necessarily a skill, but they are things you want to practice and become proficient at.
The more organized I was, the better I could see what leads were available to me and which ones I needed to pursue and act upon. Time management is also crucial because this realm is very commission-based, so your time is very valuable.
Thirdly, it's super important to follow up. An opportunity may not be for today, but there could be one ready to take action on in six months. If you practice following up, that's really where the business grows for you.
