Q10: Entry-level positions

What entry-level positions in commercial real estate can an undergraduate college student consider? If a student is interested in this field, I would recommend two or three starting positions. These are great entry-level roles, especially if they are interested in brokerage.

The first is an analyst, either a financial analyst or a production analyst. This role is excellent if you are interested in finance and want to understand how underwriting works in relation to commercial real estate properties.

If you are more interested in the pure sales realm of brokerage, I would suggest a sales assistant or a researcher. Research is a great position to start in because you will learn about the markets and different asset classes. By the time you are ready to transition, you will have a well-rounded understanding of commercial real estate.
