How would you describe people who typically thrive in your industry?

It might sound dumb, but it is helpful to enjoy food. Working in the food industry, you definitely have a lot of people that like cooking, care about food, or enjoy eating food. This is definitely one way to thrive in the industry: if it's your jam and part of your hobby.

Another piece is people that care about the future of our food system. We work in the food tech space, affecting consumers and what they eat, and caring about what you put in your body. All these things help you thrive in the industry.

Also, just being open to change is important. In my role, when you work with commodities and pricing changes, and you don't have too much control over it, being okay with the fact that some things are out of your control is key. This is probably not unique to our industry, but I'm throwing it out there.
