What do you enjoy most about being in your industry?
I'll go back to the mission-driven aspect of it. I think we have a fundamentally broken healthcare system in this country that does not serve a lot of Americans very well.
I think we have a very expensive system, and I think we have a system that has a lot of inequality in it. Being part of Optimus gives me a chance to work on this drive towards value-based care.
As a business, we are more successful the healthier we can keep our patients. This is a better way to put it. In this industry, we spend a lot of time thinking about increasing access to preventative care and improved medical management.
We know that if we get that right, because of the way our business is structured, that also makes us more profitable. I've been with this company for a little over five years now.
I ultimately feel that what I'm doing is contributing to a problem that we need to solve as a country and as a generation. I find that very motivating.
