Career Path of an MBA Student at Charles Schwab

Zach's most impactful WP Carey experience was the "close bond" formed with their cohort, forged through the shared "trauma bonding" of balancing full-time work at Charles Schwab with a demanding MBA program. This strong connection persists years later, exemplified by an invitation to a classmate's wedding where Zach was even entrusted with carrying the cake.

What was the most impactful experience during your time at WP Carey?

I got my MBA at WP Carey while working full-time at Charles Schwab. I think the most impactful experience was the close bond we formed.

When you started, you were put into small teams of five or six people. I think the close bond we made with those individuals was significant. We sometimes called it "trauma bonding" because there were often 40 hours of school on top of 40 to 50 hours of work.

But you were on it together, supporting each other. I still talk to the people in my group a few years later. One of them invited us to his wedding, and I actually carried his wedding cake, which was kind of fun. I was a random guy at that wedding, so that was a good experience.

I would say the bonds we made in that MBA program were the most impactful.
