How would you describe people who typically thrive in this industry?
The people who thrive are very resilient. For example, when I was working for Tesla, they would bring in groups of people to work on assembly lines.
We would have a group come in, and by the end of the day, 50% to 75% would already be gone on their first day. The ability to pivot without being rigid in your expectations of what's going on is important.
It's about being okay with the unknown and understanding that change is inevitable every day. Resilient, meticulous people who know exactly where their stuff is, what point they are on their project, and what they are trying to accomplish are also key.
And then people that are generally capable. A diverse toolbox of abilities has, I think, contributed a lot to very successful people in my industry.
