Vinny, what are some of the main responsibilities as a product manager?

I think the biggest responsibility for a product manager is being where the buck stops. You have to be the person who knows the answer.

Technically, people describe this as being the subject matter expert, where you really understand your product, your customers, and what everyone needs from you. This allows you to do a lot of the planning and development.

You can build a roadmap and explain why it will bring value to your users. In development, testing, or even post-launch, people will come to you with problems. Your job is to understand the product well enough to answer their questions and provide impactful solutions.
