What do you enjoy most about being in your industry?

I love being in education right now. We are in a really interesting place where we're finally starting to have enough research to understand how to solve some of our biggest problems.

Recent research around how children read has debunked some past practices. I am a massive nerd and love to continue learning how to do this better. It's really fun and engaging to read new research and toggle through past and new practices to see how to make it work so that everyone is learning.

It's a really fun time to be a part of that. It's also a really interesting time in my personal career. I'm not a new teacher anymore, but I'm also nowhere near retirement. So it's fun to feel like I know something and to be a resource for people, but also know that I have all these incredibly thoughtful, experienced people around me to learn from. It's a really fun time.
