Career Path Of A Procurement Agent At Boeing

Urmi's path to a Procurement Agent role at Boeing began with an on-campus job as a "global peer mentor" at WP Carey, supporting international students. This was followed by a pivotal summer internship as a "data science intern supporting... supply chain operations" at Boeing, which led to a full-time offer that Urmi declined in favor of an "alternative placement" that eventually positioned them for the current procurement role.

Transcript

Could you walk me through your career path, starting with your experiences in college and any internships or jobs you had before your current role?

Absolutely. Currently, I work as a procurement agent at the Boeing Company.

Prior to that, at WP Carey, I had an on-campus job as a global peer mentor. I helped support international students with their transition and with events that needed to take place for their smooth journey to college.

The summer between my junior and senior year, I was a supply chain intern at the Boeing Company. I worked as a data science intern supporting supply chain operations.

From there, I was offered a full-time role at the company. I opted for an alternative placement because I wanted something a little bit different. That's the path that set me up for my current role.
