What do you enjoy most about being in your current role?
I think it's the writing. That's what I most enjoy about journalism and this role in particular. It's a process that I enjoy, the actual process of putting an article together and getting everything into place. Just the act of writing is what I enjoy most.
Coupled with that is the opportunity to, and this is going to sound a little grandiose, but journalists write the "first draft of history." There is a certain amount of responsibility that comes with that.
That's the kind of opportunity that I really enjoy and thrive on: here's what's happening, and we're going to frame it in a way that considers how it might be remembered or looked at going forward. That's something I do not take for granted.
