What an Assistant Director of Outreach and Recruitment at a Private University Business School Wishes They Had Known Before Entering the Higher Education Industry
Trisha wishes they had known how much constant communication and interaction the outreach and recruitment role would require, especially after transitioning from a fully remote position; while the constant "talking and interactions with people" can be exhausting, it's "so worth it" because of passion for the subject matter. The role involves a significant amount of travel, events, and general on-the-go interaction, requiring one to be "on like all the time."

Q9: Wish known before – industry
This might be a lighthearted answer, but it's probably just about the amount of talking and interaction with people. I came from a fully remote position to a hybrid one here.
I'm in the office three days a week, but I also do events in the evenings and travel domestically and internationally to speak with people. I'm off on weekends.
You kind of just need to be "on" all the time. I'll come home at the end of the day and just feel like I don't want to talk for a while. I feel like I talked so much today.
But it's so worth it because I love what I get to talk about. I love being so excited to share what I get to share.
