Q12: College ideas for success
Another tricky question, because the courses I took in college did not really translate to what I'm doing in my career at all. I'm not working in a laboratory, and I'm not analyzing PCR samples.
But I would say that the hard work ethic and the drive that gets instilled by having upcoming deadlines, making sure you're well prepared for your exams and finals, and just making sure you're a successful student has absolutely translated to my success in my career.
I know how to stick to deadlines. I know how to manage my time effectively and be organized because I had all of that with my courses. So while the content of the courses is not very applicable to my career, those soft skills have absolutely translated to both my role at my previous position as well as my current role.
