What do you enjoy most about being in your industry?

Definitely the potential for impact. At the end of the day, probably the most significant existential crisis we face nowadays is climate change.

It's going to impact disadvantaged communities and people far more than the rest of us. Being able to make any contribution to that is really important and aligns with my values very well.

For our specific endeavor, it's hard to overstate how impactful it could potentially be. If we look at how far short we're going to fall from our goals and targets, and if our only tool is making brand new EVs, we'd still miss our carbon budget by a factor of three.

We are in dire need of other solutions. If you look at what scale makes sense to roll out our retrofit solution to minimize the societal burden of achieving our climate goals, it's on the same level as brand new EVs. It can have an impact on the order of 50 gigatons of carbon between now and 2050.

We've got to get it out there, but it has the potential to really move the needle.
