What are your main responsibilities within your role?
Right now, I'm responsible for managing people. I'd say that takes a lot of my time, just making sure everyone's doing the right job and being there if anyone needs support or advice.
As time has gone on, I don't really do a lot of individual tasks anymore. I focus more on identifying problems, stepping in to solve them, and helping anyone who needs it.
That's one side of my job. The other side involves actively seeking out deals and investors. In other industries, this might be different people, but for me, it's about investors and developing relationships.
I didn't fully grasp this in college, but now that I'm working, I see it clearly. I used to think success meant completing as many tasks as possible. However, especially now that I manage a team, I understand that's not the case.
With the rise of AI, this will become even less true. Now, I believe success is more about being insightful and thoughtful. A lot of what I do comes from my insights.
I think anyone can be insightful if they put in the time and effort. One way to start is by reading about what's happening in the world. I believe everyone should read the news daily, regardless of their industry.
It's good to be educated because it also serves as a great conversation starter when you meet someone. Why wouldn't you do that?
