Further, it can be difficult to manage the expectations of both upper management and the team, balancing the need to satisfy everyone involved, particularly when "letting down the people in [the] department" due to decisions beyond personal control.

What is your biggest challenge in your role?
When my team comes to me with a difficult and complex problem, I have to figure it out on my own. This is because handling a department means you're responsible for finding solutions.
It also happens when team members have issues with each other. I try to step in and resolve those situations.
Sometimes, I find myself a bit overwhelmed if there are many things happening at once. Especially when there are problems, it can get a little overwhelming.
However, I've found a good balance and a way to manage and overcome these challenges. I can deal with whatever comes up.
Letting down the people in my department is also difficult. Sometimes, not everything is within my control; it can come from higher up. When this upsets the people working with me, I struggle with it.
I don't like disappointing people. Also, as a VP, you have to make both your superiors and your subordinates happy. I didn't realize this until I became one.
Being a VP is a very difficult job, more so than I initially thought. It's an incredible experience, and I learn a lot every day from the people who work with me and from those above me. However, it can be challenging to ensure everyone is happy on our end.
