Favorite Parts Of Working In The Commercial Real Estate Industry As A Senior Financial Analyst At Berkadia
Sydney, a Senior Financial Analyst at Berkadia, loves the social and passionate nature of the commercial real estate industry, describing it as a "small industry" filled with "fun people" who embody a "work hard, play hard mentality" and readily discuss their work outside of office hours. This enthusiasm, Sydney notes, is uncommon in other industries.

What do you enjoy most about being in your industry?
I would say I enjoy the people in our industry the most. Everyone tends to be very social and fun to be around. I'd say most people in commercial real estate really embody the "work hard, play hard" mentality.
There are a lot of networking events. At the end of the day, it is a very small industry, and it's mostly fun people who are really passionate about their job and the work they're doing.
I always say that amongst our friend groups, the ones that work in real estate are the ones that are always talking about it outside of work and when we're just doing other things. I don't find that to be true in many other industries.
I have a lot of friends in sales who aren't necessarily dying to talk about their product or their work. But I find that whenever I'm with my real estate friends, all we do is talk about real estate, which is honestly really fun.
It is not just multifamily. I have friends that do office or industrial, and it's interesting to hear what they're doing. So, I'd say the people.
