Biggest Challenge of Being a Senior Internal Auditor at Compass Diversified
Suzanne's greatest challenge as a Senior Internal Auditor at Compass Diversified is maintaining "professional skepticism," especially given the development of strong relationships with management teams over time. The need to consistently "poke holes" and demand proof, rather than giving "the benefit of the doubt," is crucial to fulfilling the role's auditing function.

What is your biggest challenge in your current role?
The biggest challenge, I would say, is probably maintaining professional skepticism. This is especially true when you work with the same management teams year after year. You get to know them, you build relationships.
It's important to remember why you're there: to police, to question, and to consider all possibilities. Don't just assume management has the company's best interests at heart. You always have to try to find flaws in what they're saying.
It might sound harsh, but you can't give people the benefit of the doubt in this job. You always have to make them prove everything.
