What skills are most important for a job like yours?
As a founder, the first thing I'd say is being able to adapt and change course as new information comes in. As your company grows, you have to be able to pivot.
An idea you thought would work might not, or something unexpected could fall into your lap. You have to be able to pursue that. So, adapting to what's happening in real-time is really important.
Next, I would say staying organized. Keeping things well documented and managing your time effectively is crucial because you're handling so many different parts of the business. If you're not organized, everything can become a mess.
I try to do a weekly cleanup of all the files on my computer, putting them into the right folders. This makes it easy to find things, and it's a small but important habit.
Discipline is the next thing. As a founder working on something day in and day out, there's no one telling you what to do. You have to be self-motivated to get the work done.
Motivation can fluctuate, so sometimes you have to push forward even when you don't feel like it. That's why discipline is so important.
Finally, I'd say perseverance is a key quality. This is the ability to keep going, even when you feel like you want to stop. Discipline plays a role here too.
Many companies succeed because they simply kept working at it and didn't give up. So, perseverance is probably the last important piece if you're looking to be a founder.
