Favorite Parts of Being a Marketing Specialist at a Fortune 500 Technology Company

Stella most enjoys fostering a positive work environment by creating "positive moments" for colleagues, including team-building activities and educational opportunities. A second source of satisfaction comes from the opportunity to travel for large-scale events, combining work with exploration and experiencing the energy of "so many people…work[ing] so hard to create and achieve."

What do you enjoy most about being in your current role?

Number one, I would say being able to connect with my team and make a small difference in their day-to-day work life. This could be bringing an educational opportunity or, every once in a while, sending out a fun "question of the week" on a Friday.

It’s about asking people to share their weekend plans or whatever it may be. Bringing that element of humanity to work and reminding everyone that we are people with lives outside of work, and let's celebrate and honor that. I love that I get to do that in my role, because I didn’t really know that was something I could do until I started, and it feels really great.

So, just being able to connect and create a positive moment for someone in their day or week. Then, number two, for me, being able to travel and be on-site at some of these really amazing, humongous events that our team puts on.

Feeling the energy of what so many people have worked so hard to create and achieve is great. Obviously, the travel is really fun too, getting to go to new places and be with my team. It’s not only being there for work, but also creating time to explore as well.

It's a great balance in my role of creating great moments in a virtual environment, and then also being able to go in person, see my team, and be a part of these awesome events.
