What have you learned about this role that you wish someone had told you before you entered the industry?

This is an interesting one. Sometimes, it's simply easier to go with the flow than to die on that hill.

Often, you have a great idea and you know how great it's going to be, but you have to sell it to others. This might mean selling it to the executive team, legal, compliance, and all the different teams that slowly whittle down your great idea.

Rather than dying on that hill and making enemies, it's sometimes easier to go with the flow. This is because you don't always have the full picture.

Trusting leadership a little, and being mentally resilient to change and flexible with your ideas are all things I wish someone had told me to look out for.
