What do you enjoy most about being in your industry?
I love that I'm able to choose which businesses I work with. I often feel the businesses I work with are making a positive impact in the world. I've worked with a lot of one-woman shows that are changing societal norms and expectations and building their own empires. These are things I felt I needed or wanted to see when I was entering my career. It's really cool to be a part of that.
When I was at Cal Poly, because I was a business major, I had an intro to entrepreneurship class. I had this idea that entrepreneurship was for tech people who wanted to build really big things. I wanted to do my own thing, but I didn't want that version of it.
I didn't know what entrepreneurship meant until I kind of fell into it when I left the events world. I decided I wanted to have flexibility and had to find out what that looked like. Now that I get to help others build that, it's really great.
