What is the day in the life of a data scientist like?

My morning starts with a 15 to 30 minute stand-up with my team. We all report on what we did the past day and where we are. It's mainly used for blockers, not for micromanagement.

It's more about saying, "This is what I'm doing. If you have any use for it, I'm happy to work with you." Or if you're stuck somewhere, I'm happy to look at your code or your data.

Then I might have a meeting or two with our product teams, clinical teams, or doctors to get some input on what I'm working on. I might also offer another set of eyes. If they need data or analytics, I might help them with that.

There might be some time where I sit in on other teams' meetings, like an engineering team meeting, if it's useful to my work. And then there's a lot of coding on a day-to-day basis.

I work pretty independently on that. There's also some amount of documenting to make sure people are aware of what I'm working on and are able to access it.
